993 Air Con - problem?

The air con on my 993 is no longer blowing cold air. It blows, but not very cold. Is this likely just to need re-gassing or is it possible that there is a bigger, more expensive issue here?
Its more than likely that the Air Con pipe needs replacing then it will prob need a re gass. If u go to Kwik fit they will try a RE gas and if that dont work then u know its the pipe ( i had the same issues myself).
One of the small rubber pipes under the windscreen wipers had popped off and my 993 was not blowing cold air. There is a "clunking" noise at the top of the dashboard after a few seconds when this happens.
I spoke to Porsche and a couple of Porsche Independents and they all diagnosed a new aircon compressor over the phone (at around £1000). Tore B.'s website was instrumental in helping me to diagnose the issue. And once I knew where to look it took me 30 seconds to rectify it. Look at his website first.

Personally i`d get a leak test done first of all (but a reputable air con outfit) and they you will know what you are up against.

Hmmmm, just had mine regassed and cleaned whilst in at Porsche. They checked the system and came back with the answer the system was fine.So I had it refilled and hey presto ....... utter pants. Can't believe its running right ...... but someone has told me that from new, it wasn't that great.
Only 40 degrees in Spain at the moment and I will be there in just over a week. Hey ho. Thats what a sunroof is for I guess.
I had mine re-gassed and got the ok with pressures etc, about 4 weeks later back to warm air. The condensor was leaking in the nose. (sniffer did not detect any leaks either!) replaced the condensor and a tubey thingy which I cant remember its name but was a recommended change if doing the condensor. Pretty straight forward job but is time consuming as you need to get both wheels off the ground, remove wheel arch liners, remove nose just to get at the kit. I renewed all the fastners and bracketry for the liners and the nose as they were pretty coroded after 16 years of road use. Pretty easy DIY job and some really good write ups on "How to" available on the net especially Jackals-forge!
