911 gone Noble on drive, aircon prob
Discussion
Hi there just swoped my ageing air cooled 911 for M12. Was supposed to go and buy a boring 4x4 Shogun or Rav 4 as im down to have a spinal fusion very soon and was having trouble driving the 911! Wife came back and found Noble on the drive (she went ape s
t),.I would recomend to anybody with any severe back probs buy a Noble , The NHS would save a fourtune, the adrenaline punch from driving one of these cars is addictive and better than any drugs! Should have done it years ago!! Driving my 1st M12 was like love at first sight, made my last 15 years of owning a gaggle of brisk 911s seem pedestrian like.
Always loved my 911s but completly besoted by the Noble..
Sorry enuff verbal rubbish!!
Can anybody tell me what aircon unit fitted (escort-mondeo) needs servicing i think . Its cold but intermitant on for 10 secs then off then back on again and very noisey then blows a fuse!
Any meets or things going on local to Battle, Hastings..

Firstly, welcome to the fold and congrats on your choice! Is your car from anyone on here?

Fantastic! You can offer her consolation in that you'll be available for "errands" that need doing... my lovely lady appreciates my willingness to help and has come to understand that fetching a pint of milk from the shop down the road can take 2 hours, teabags can only be found the other side of Tunbridge Wells and a new pair of shoelaces requires a 100-mile round trip...
There may not be anything wrong with your aircon; they're fairly noisy (well, mine is) and the compressor is in the engine bay just behind the driver's seat IIRC.
Otherwise, Goodwood Breakfast club usually pulls in a handful of Nobbers and is a good run from here.

I'm nearby, bernhund is a little further up the A21 and there are a couple of other Kent/Sussex owners on here, so we should probably organise one!Otherwise, Goodwood Breakfast club usually pulls in a handful of Nobbers and is a good run from here.
Welcome. I've had lower back problems for years and when I'm suffering a bit I can't even get in the Noble. I was literally in tears getting out of it one time last year because of the pain. As Andy says, the M400 seats are a fair bit more comfortable than the rest of the range but having your bum so low is always going to be an issue if you're susceptible.

Sounds like an issue with the compressor if it's making noise and blowing fuses - it's a relativly standard Ford one and any decent aircon specialist should be able to sort it out.Thanx for your feed back guys.
Havnt had this much fun in a car since my slightly modefied 3 Door Cozzie in the late 80s!
As for the back issue the 911 was not good , heavy clutch , off set peddals, non servo brakes on the early stuff, a pig of a gearbox, didnt help matters!
Ive had the M12 for a couple of weeks now and done 400 miles in it already but getting prity warm in the cockpit today with no aircon..
Off to Austec in Crawley on Tuesday for a health check on the M12, has anybody out there used them before .
And yep if anybody Kent ,East Sussex up for a meet Breakfast or whatever..
Aircon guy coming Monday...Will let you know..Thanx Mark

Get your heater valve checked / replaced, a common problem that lets hot water bypass the valve and warm up the little cold air produced by the air con. Havnt had this much fun in a car since my slightly modefied 3 Door Cozzie in the late 80s!

To help stop the cabin heating up there is a mod to feed cold air down the centre chassis tunnel, you will know if this has been done already by the temperature of your gear stick and handbrake after a few miles!
