Hi Guys
I need to make some cash over the summer as I want to buy a property as an investment.
A few years back I did ok buying and selling a few cars parts time; quite a few Boxsters, Chimaeras and the like.
I have just seen this on e-bay and is finished today:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PORSCHE-944-S2-CABRIO-BL...

I could get the dents repaired by a bodyshop friend and I would paint it myself (I have some experience and have the gear).

I would make the car as good as I could before selling it on.

What would it be worth roughly when done?

I naturally need to work out whether it is worth the bother or not. I would expect he does not want to claim on his insurance due to the premium hike.

Thanks

Impossible to tell, really; it could be anywhere between £3K bottom and perhaps £7K if immaculate. See the thread on PCGB forum about it, though. The car's clearly hit a VERY tough "bush", and there might be more damage than is obvious in the pics. You'll have trouble getting top money for it as the car has been so widely advertised and discussed on different forums with the accident damage shown.

As with any other 944, you could be in to sills as well as the rest of the repairs if they're rusty. It's had a cambelt, but other areas to look at include head gasket, caliper corrosion, fuel and brake lines, clutch condition etc. Any one of these could cost a grand.

I really can't see it returning enough profit to buy you a house! hehe

I cant see there being any profit in that at all unless you bought it for a couple of grand and had your own paint shop and a lot of free time on your hands.

Even then, you would need to inspect it properly, there will be damage elsewhere that is not evident in those photos.

An insurance company would write that off in a heart beat.

I am not going for it.
The best I could do even at the price it is currently on (2050) is get it all done for about 3000-3200.

As has been said there is bound to be more damage than can be seen in the pictures.

Thanks again
