Karaoke! 
But on holiday last week one of the bars had a karaoke night, and not sure if it was the booze (well it was!), I got the song-book and chose a song to get up in front of everybody and sing.
Hendrix's 'Hey Joe' went down quite well with everybody in amongst all the Take That songs, and my Mrs. even said I sounded quite good.
Then came Eddie Cochrane's 'C'mon Everybody' which I kinda fluffed a bit, but didn't sound that bad.
My first ever singing performance!
Just wished I'd done 'Silver Machine' or 'Light My Fire'
Goes off to get next year's Britain's Got Talent application form

It was a toss-up between 'Hey Joe' and 'Heroes' by Bowie, then 'C'mon Everybody' entered my head.
I really wanted 'Transmission' by Joy Division so I could do the Ian Curtis dance, but didn't think they'd have that one.
I've not yet made a sound like a dog being choked and kicked in the balls at the same time sung at karaoke yet, but if i did my first song would probably be something from Johnny Cash (Ring of Fire), Jimmy Buffet (Margaritaville) or Phil Oakley(Electric Dreams). Just need to get that wasted that i don't care how bad i sound 
Kareoke is great fun! Havent done it for years though.
I sang "Gay Bar" by electric six in a fairly rough Irish bar in new york once.
We left fairly shortly after the slow hand clap and disapproving stares from the locals. I dont know what they were thinking having Kareoke in a place like that anyway.

I've been a singer in a number of bands. I had a mate who was a DJ / Karaoke bloke...with whom we shared equipment.
He borrowed some of our amps / PA gear for his Karaoke, and we borrowed his flashing lighting rigs for our gigs.
Occasionally I went to one of his Karaoke evenings, and he'd sometimes publically shame me via the PA system into coming up and doing a number, whilst I was happily sat at the bar, drink in hand.
I always thought it wasn't really fair, and a bit of a fraud for doing so - because after I did a song, I'd return to the bar, and people would come over and say 'mate, that was really good - you should be in a band etc.' - and sometimes even buy me a beer. I'd feel a right cheater when I told them that actually, I was already in a band, and they'd often then look at me as if to say 'that's not fair then, you cheat!'
Although I have to admit, that when me and mates used to go to Spain on ropey package holidays, that I did a bt of Karaoke in some of the bars that offered prizes of bottles of wine for the best singer...we won a lot of bottles of cheap wine! Not really fair - but f
