folks,

getting married in a couple of months, and just getting round to sorting a camcorder.
I want something reasonably small, from an established brand, and reasonably cheap (£200-250).

One we have finished with the wedding, I want it for recording family stuff etc.
have been looking at various Sony and Canon Legria models, but would appreciate an actual users response.

thanks in advance.

Most camcorders are HD these days. Sony has the biggest market share, with Panasonic increasing theirs and Canon dropping off a bit from what I can tell. I'd pick the 2 electronics companies over Canon on this one.

Touch screen ones are nice but not necessary, Sony CX190 I played around with a bit before and it's alright, very small and the built in USB cable is nice. The CX115 is also a good bet but I don't think has the built in cable (which can be viewed as a weakness depending on how you look at it).

The projector models are out of your price range and mostly a gimmick anyway, so don't worry about them. Just be sure to get a decent memory card with it (at least class 6) otherwise the video will come out a bit odd.
