Somewhere near Bristol
Discussion
Later this year me and the Mrs will be spending a couple of nights in Bristol, and are thinking of then going somewhere else in the area for another night or two, just dont know where. Dont really want to head too much further South West, because home is Essex. But looking for some inspiration.
Requirements - B&B or hotel, little village would be favorite, having spent time in Bristol, something to do nearby, or nice bit of countryside for a walk, couple of pubs. Could be on the Somerset coast, if worth the miles.
Any ideas of places that I could explore?

Chedder gorge is worth a visit. Go early morning good blast up it
Done that before, but might just have to do it again
Thanks for the Bath suggestion, but probably should have mentioned that been there before.
Miniman - wouldn't mind that Castle Coombe recommendation please, looks like a good option. Lovely looking village, right on the route home. If only I could get a few laps round the track too

Thanks for all the suggestions.
