Can I find out what's flying where and when?

Was out mountain biking in the Lakes yesterday and saw four Typhoons, had two fly over my parents house today too. Is there anyway I can find out when stuff is going to be about?

I've seen Tornados fly through Loweswater, with me looking down on them from the hill side and the same going over Gatesgarth pass in the past and it was pretty awesome, so would like to see some more!

As far as I'm aware, none of the live atc type sites have the codes for fast jets loaded (some do have military transport codes - have seen C-17s appear) You might find exercises listed on MoD (they NOTAM areas for "intense activity" but don't tell you what aircraft or specific times)

You need to download Planeplotter and when you have it subscribe to MLAT. It will plot everything military with positions just like FR24 or PlaneFinder does with civis.

That may come in useful - never knew the hex codes had been released for mil a/c

I've never checked for military, but I downloaded a little app called 'FlightRadar24' which is quite natty.

You can 'point' your phone at a plane, and it'll tell you what it is, etc.

Apologies for the serious ignorance, I know next to nothing about aircraft of flying, not sure if this is 'good' or not!
