Any body have an tips or recommendations?

Looking for 5* AI for two weeks early November. Where to go or where to avoid would be good as never ventured over there. Also any resort hotel recommends. Me, the misses, 13 year old girl and 17 year old girl.

Many thanks in advance.

Went there two years go too. Thunk it was september. Very nice resort, really enjoyed it. It's about 30 mins into playa del Carmen which is a nice town with a cracking beach.

The resort itself is a bit out of the way from the airport and a good 3 hours away from cancun.
Really nice beach, food was ok(except the brazilian- we didn't like it and friends who went there after us got food poisoning from it) staff are very good and all in all, represents great value for money.

I've also stayed at the moon palace too. Expensive but out of this world. Highly recommended.

I was in Mexico for honeymoon in March, stayed at the Grand Park Royal Cancun Caribe something or rather. It was fantastic, we unfortunately had to go when it was spring break though but the clientele was still pretty good. Not too many obnoxious Americans and the noisey ones kept themselves to the 'fiesta no siesta' pool.

Playa Del Carmen is not a nice town. It makes Blackpool and Bognor Regis seem like Monaco. The infamous 5th Avenue is like Khoasan Rd in Thailand but worse, much worse! Avoid unless you want a tattoo or drugs, Tulum is alot cheaper for the latter.

Well on the basis we didn't venture to 5th avenue I can only assume I was in a different part in town.

Was never offered drugs, nor did i actually notice any tattoo shops.

Well, the Mayan Riviera and Yucatan Peninsula area are beautiful, but being Mexican and having visited many places in my country I'd much prefer to visit Cabos San Lucas, which sits on the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, You have the best of both worlds with spectacular mountainside and ocean front, there are several ranges of hotels but google Capella Pedregal and see a bit of what you could have, it’s truly paradisiacal! Enjoy!

Is that on the Pacific Ocean? If so, isn't the water a lot colder than on the carribean side of Mexico?
