Throwing 4 round tyres & a new prop shaft has fixed the problem The var no longer lunges/jerks and tries to make me vomit Tyres look quite nice too, all shiny and round (Perili P3000s in R13 165). Shame I have no money spare now (till tommorrow - pay day ).

Oh yer, I'm a criminal (eventually had to pay fine and get the points ) Tommorrow would have been the cut-off point as well. Sigh. Letter time .

Good for you. It's a nice feeling when you finally solve a long running problem isn't it. Driving can be a real pleasure again.

Hurrah!
Glad to hear it's sorted.
I had a rattle coming through the steering when I drove the Marcos last night (just around the street to get some heat in the engine), but we think it's a loose wheel bearing.
A quick adjust tonight and should be all systems go for the MOT tomorrow.
Wish me luck.

Good Luck Chris, least if it goes bottom's up you've got somewhere nice to sit for a while

Fixing it was great, but paying for it was truly painful Thats 1/10 of the cars value I spent yesterday. Sacrilidge!

You should try racing Stefan - try 100% of the cars value (actually, make that new cost, rather than value) to run it for a year .

Glad its going again - fixing it is part of the ownership experience though, so just put the costs down to hobby expenses .

Ah that's not too bad Stefan, at least the cars going well now.

In the last two months the S has cost me £927. What with the exhaust, and it's still broke. Need new manifolds soon. Hopefully it will be running again properly after this weekend.

Um, it's not fixed The steering rack has actually gone, but the tyres were making the problem worse. Bollocks with a capital Bollock!

It's perfectly driveable and no longer tries to wrench the wheel from my hands (which is a nice thing) but still has enough play to be wary.

And these new tyres aren't the best in the wet (I'm hoping yet) either

They must absolutely hate me then

It's working, I can drive it but it needs more money thrown at it to make it all better

are you dispensing life advice now? First mungo and his trouser zipping activities and then me

I'm getting better all the time, I used to be a right mess a few years back but now I'm, well partially, normal
