Recommend me some forks

I've had my bike since 2007 and it'was Built from odds and ends from my mates parts bin, it's actually decent enough to be fair
Kona Roast frame, XTR bits where it matters, Hope disc brakes etc
The forks currently are Manitou Axels, and they are ok but not terribly great, so I'm looking to upgrade,
I was heavily into biking when I was younger and had various suspension forks from Rock Shox Mags to Marzocchi Bomber Z1s, with Pace RC35s, Rock Shox Judys and Manitou X Verts in between, and it was an area I was particularly fussy about, I always had to have a supple ride on smaller multiple bumps but also able to handle bigger hits, so my forks were always set up progressively.
The Manitous I currently have are ok but I've never really liked them, and I'm not exactly mr current affairs with what's good and what's not so great in this area
