A double first for me today, took part in the Lincoln Grand Prix Sportive and it just happened to be my first century as well, what an epic day biggrin

Glorious weather, challenging route through the Lincolnshire Wolds and a time I'm happy with, 6:15 for 104 miles. I think this may lead to an addiction..

Looking forward to watching the pros tomorrow blitzing the Michaelgate, if I manage to wake up from my slumber!

Thanks, still buzzing, both figuratively and literally!

Impressive display of bike p0rn on the go as well, particulary the Cipollini RB1000 cloud9

Etape Caledonia (81miles) for me yesterday, weather was brutal with high winds and rain!

It's a good course with nearly 4000ft of climbing!

You sure it wasn't more than that?

4k of climbing over 80 miles is not hilly.

Just had a look at the event is 6500 ft of climbing, which makes more sense.

Felt bloody hilly from where I was sitting! But I can't train on the mountainous Boxhill! wink

well done for doing the whitton - I did it last year and it wasnt easy, especially with the variable funny weather they get up there over the course of one day..

Very well done, a tad harder than riding through Lincolnshire I should imagine!

Are there any sportives out there which specifically aim for fast roads? They all seem to include some sort of 'hilly suffering' element which I can see, would love a fast 100 mile course to really push myself the whole way round.

London Revolution this weekend should be pretty flat, 180 miles over 2 days.

Only one I could think of off the top of my head that's actually billed as mostly flat. Wind can be an issue out on the fens though, and that is often worse than lots of climbing.
Hold on a moment - I've had another thought - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/wiggle-super-series-wight-... - this one not billed as flat, but the two sections through the New Forest are broadly speaking flatter and fairly sheltered, just don't expect a lot of respect from drivers on the forest roads.

There is the flat out on the fens on 17th June if you are looking for a non hilly one. I am signed up for the 154 mile route that should be fun.
