Seeing the odd hillclimb and trackday etc posted up that week doesn't give us much warning.

Is there a motorsport calendar that covers all the events right down to grassroots stuff anywhere?

I've been trying to find one since late December, and I know what you mean, like that Classic Car show near or in Kilmarnock which was posted up 3 or 4 days in advance of it

Don't know if this is your thing but it is entry level and is great fun to do/watch and smell the two stroke, Castrol R anyone.
There are 4 main tracks in Scotland these being, Larkhall, Boyndie, Crail and Golspie.
These tracks also hold various different classes of racing, sprints etc.
More details can be found here. www.scottishkarting.co.uk

Last raced 20yrs ago, Class 4 (gearbox) Before current job, had to give up as I work every other weekend. Still miss it. Sub 4sec
0-60 and top speed of just shy of 100mph on short circuits. Plenty of crashes being open wheeled at the time.

There is also Autograss racing, very cheap and close door handle to door handle -rubbing is racing type of thing. I run a 205 GTI in the stock hatch class (CS 405 is my race number) please come for a watch and tell me what you think http://www.scottishautograss.co.uk/

Try this one for the 'classic car day in a field' type events;

This one looks quite good this weekend (free entry too);
