Road-oriented tyres that work on track - F1s ?

As title; having had an "interesting" moment in the British summer (wet) weather on Sunday I'm looking at Goodyear F1s for the new wheels.

Can anyone comment on their track performance? I only plan to do a couple of track days a year, and not looking to wring every last second out of each lap, but any experience (wet or dry) would be good to hear about.

I used the Goodyear F1 assymetricals on 4 days last year and they were great on track as well as road, didn't wear too badly either, lots of other noble owners rate them too.

I need a set of rears, a lot of people have said to me don't go for the Chevron style pattern, go for the more tradtional block / groove, The Bridgestone S03's that are on aooear good, but quite £££ so looking for similar alternatives.

I use Eagle F1s as my wet weather tyres, track and road and they are great. I'm sure they'll be fine in the dry as well so long as you keep an eye on temps/pressures and don't stay out on track too long for each session.

Dave, I've never tracked mine but have always fitted F1's. I've found them to be a great 'all round' tyre.

I have had Eagle F1's on my Impreza P1 for 2 years - and done 3 aggressive track days (including Cadwell park) in that time and not had to change them for about 2 years! Although i am only doing about 4000 miles a year.
Brilliant all round tyre and obviously i agree they wear amazingly well!

P Zero Rossos on the Noble and they are simply awesome in the dry (Rockingham) and were great fun in the wet (brands hatch) very predictable but i wouldnt say they were finding a huge amount of grip!

Paul, I think the chevron pattern was on an older version of the F1 (GTS3D or something?) - had them on a previous car and a superb tyre in the rain.

The current (Asymmetric 2) version of the Eagle F1 looks like this :-

I was talking about the "v" / chevron pattern that is on my Impreza.

Those new ones look far more like the pattern of the P Zeros on my noble!

I think the Asymmetric 2 is just the latest incarnation but the GS-3D is still available in certain sizes according to this...

ive got bridgestone S02's on the car at the moment, and the place i got them from said they would make good track tyres also.
