Any idea what the coolant header tank pressure cap rating should be on a 3R mines fitted with a ProAlloy tank, pressure cap rating 21-25lbs, it could do with a new one but just curious if thats a bit high?

That's what I run on mine; the original was losing too much coolant when hot.

Not sure but when I pressurised my system to check for leaks following the fitment of silicon hoses, I got to just over 1.5Bar and my mechanic said to stop at that. He said that he never goes that high as the cap won't ever allow that kind of pressure anyway. Also the rad can split on older cars. I'd imagine the standard cap is probably max 18psi but that is a guess.

The standard cap with the pro alloy tank is 13lb, it's pish.

Get a nice shiney quick release cap from burton power 21-25lb I think it is.. Any less and sooner or later youll loose a lot of coolant.. I did on the rolling road.

Is this the recommended cap for the Pro-Alloy expansion tank?
