Oops! I sympathise. I got bored with my Mark II Ford Escort a few years ago. There wasn't much wrong with it. It was a Mexico with some common modifications. I sold it for £1000. I have a feeling it is worth ten times that now. The shell was mint. An Irish chap took one look at the inner wings (mint) and took it away on a trailer. I suspect it is a Group 4 rally car now. I hope it is still going strong and not destroyed.

The seller seems to be struggling to understand the concept of no reserve auctions.
I can't see him getting £10k, but I've got some Humble Pie in the freezer just in case.

Yep, interesting attitude: if memory serves, with a no reserve it'll bid the lowest first, so his "low bidder" may well have bid much bigger bucks as his maximum, but been removed before the next bid went in. He might have dumped a millionaire with a Cortina habit...The seller seems to be struggling to understand the concept of no reserve auctions.

It's a period Q car, they didn't make very many and as it's rustprone 1970s tin it's unlikely many are left of those few. Back in the day, if you had a cortina or escort it was a fairly simple job to drop in a 3 litre v6 capri or granada lump straight (I think) to the std ford gearbox, bigger rad couple of exhaust boxes and bobs your uncle etc etc.
SOME were put together by the tuners of the day, which I dont know but someone above said Jeff Uren which is a name I remember along with Broadspeed, Jeff Howe, and others.
Looking at the value of these old Lotus cortinas, RS's, 1600E's and the like a very nice one of these Savages could be a few quid I guess but I dont think they are 20-30k but happy to be proved wrong.
An RS2600 capri as an example does not make those numbers in that condition.
I would also want some documentation that it was indeed a genuine Savage and not something me and my brother did in 1980 and stuck in the shed for a few years.
Not trying to spoil the sale, best of luck to the fella, but as one of the girls at work constantly reminds me "God loves a trier" even if he doesnt get the desired results.

and i can promise you its a real savage cos there was supporting paper work with the car
i was the fourth owner in 1975, that car would go off the clock and the needle would stick on the high
beam warning light lol
in 1975 there was not much on the road that could live with it
not even the thames valley police !
as for 10 grand time will tell
