Photoshop help (no, not that sort!)

Can anyone give me some pointers as to how to achieve this effect on type:



In other words, type something in red, then add a white and blue outline.

Any help much appreciated!

Select the text and use the stroke command to add a border as many pixels wide as you want. First time in white a second time in blue will give you the results you demonstrated.

In Text layer style, you'll get a similar result if you add 'Stroke' in white, then 'Outer Glow' (you'll have to adjust the property well) in blue.

Photoshop rasterising all the time, because it's a photo editor program. If you don't want to live with this side effect, then use it Adobe Illustrator. (it's a vector graphics program, so you can magnify up anything without loosing resolution)
You can use your original Photoshop picture that just import into Illustrator. I have to check, there is an effect at outlining (stroke), where you can do this job in one step.

If you have no Illustrator, then I can advice you the next: you can carry out this by using layers.
In first step make a new layer with your text, then add 1st stroke to them. Then go back onto that layer where is the original text -supposedly that layer is under in the layers order- and make the bigger stroke. That's all.

Working with layers in photoshop is a big advantage.
