Porsche Indie - Bristol Area
Discussion
Hi m8 - dunno if it's too far for you to travel but just outside Exeter there is a reliable indie called Oaktree - guy called Crispin runs the place. Also if you fancy a seaside day out you could try Braunton Engineering, North Devon. Google either of them and contact numbers are easy to find. I've used both of them in te course of the last 3 years and had no complaint.

I used Chad at Advanced Car Care to replace the discs and pads on my C4S. He used to be one half of Porschmode but has since set himself up near Brin Jones the official Porsche repair shop in Filton. Their website has all the prices listed for servicing and consumable replacement by each Porsche model. Would recommend.

Yeah, they are nearest to me. But I had to call twice and was promised a call back on both occasions... nothing. No way to run a business.Cheers guys, I've been on a few of the sites to try and source the parts myself (because I can probably change them) but am bit baffled by all the different versions, brands, prices, quantities etc Some say OEM others say OEM 'like' etc etc, I found it frustrating!
If anyone can post a definitive link to Brakes and Pads for an '08 Cayman S they'd be saving me some hair pulling.

To be honest disks and pads is not brain surgery
No, but there is an awful lot you can do wrong on Porsche brakes, ask me how I know.I've seen competent local mechanics screw these up quite nicely.
Trust Steve Bull. He knows what he is doing, and will fit only Porsche parts. Do not *iss around with anything else.

Understand what you are saying, the one Indie I have spoken to tried to steer me away from OEM. But I may well want to warranty the car again in future so it will be necessary for me - I suspect the indies get more margin on non-OEM parts as well, but thats the cynic in me speaking. Catpuddle said:

OP,
You should should be able to get the all 4 disc/pads kits for around £300, OEQ is good and are usually textar/pagid, these are the people who make Porsche OEM brakes as Porsche don't make their own, only difference is they don't have a Porsche logo on the box. I think I paid about £110 to have them fitted locally. I had mine fitted last month and they've bedded in nicely, huge improvement.
