Ronsonol lighter fuel works a treat as it breaks down the sticky glue easily.

Did this on my 3.2 carrera today, I just used normal household glass cleaner to remove the adhesive residue after pulling the main part of the sticker off (I dont do free advertising either!) If that doesnt work something alcoholic probably will (aftershave?)

Use a razor blade or stanley knife blade with your fingers (wear gloves or it hurts your fingers). Use it like a miniature paint scraper and it will quickly remove the lot very easily. Only suitable on glass as it would make a funny mess of a plastic window - then so would any solvent !

Cellulose thinners, Butanone, and all the other powerful stuff only needs one drip on the surrounding paintwork to knacker the car.

Fairly mild - Surgical Spirit (any chemist), or better still:

Meths - rub some on and drink the rest

Just to echo McNab's idea Meths will probably do the best job with minimal risk to paintwork (Vodka will also do, but even milder and slightly less damaging to you when you drink the remainder )

If it's a real stubborn bastard try using Nail varnish remover (acetone) on a cotton wool ball, but keep it away from paintwork and especially plastics!!
