We are at the stage with the XKSS of getting the screen surround and bumpers and rear lights chromed, but it seems that there are few reliable companies out there since many have closed due to the new Health & Safety rules. Now we are talking to a couple, but their time scheduling is long. so, I'm looking for a few suggestions. They have to be good because the screen surround is alloy and would easily distort if buffed too much before chroming.

I used Albion plating in Partridge Green near Horsham (don't know if that location is any help?).

Turn round time was about 3 weeks earlier this year and I have no problems with the quality and the stuff they did on my other car was still looking good after 10 years.

They only do the plating and use 3 different polishers, so it would be worth checking that they choose the best one for your stuff.

Hi,
I used Best Electroplating at Crawley (just behind Gatwick airport) to do the cowling on my Austin 7. Very helpful, really nice job on a very battered old brass cowling. Said they were happy to have stuff posted, and post back, although I dropped mine off and picked it up myself, turn around was 2 weeks, from turning up unannounced!

Good luck
