968 earth advice please.
Discussion
Hi,
I have an intermittent problem with my 968 which I suspect is down to a faulty earth. Occasionally it won't start and everything goes dead - the lights all come on as normal at position 1, but when I turn to activate the starter i get a click under the bonnet and all the lights go out. Turn off and try again and this time not even the ignition lights come on. Then next time she starts up fine.
Battery is new and good. Car has ignition master switch (it is a race car), otherwise electric are standard. I have a chnanged usual relays (DME plus the other common one - name eludes me - and no difference).
It doesn't sound like the c solenoid issue. If it is a bad earth, which of the 10 or so points is likely to be the culprit? Or am I barking up the wrong tree (decentish doctor, poor mechanic!)
Thanks
Mark
