What do the forum think of this -

Took my car into a specialist for some work a while ago.

Open the PP and there's my car used several times in an advert. No mention by the firm involved that they were taking studio shots or anything like that.

Its not the fact that they took pictures - its the lack of prior agreement!

Out of order I'd say. Mine is used to advertise a company that sells vehicle graphics, but at least I got a free set!

Don't see the issue if the shot is of the workshop and your car happens to be there - they do not need any consent to do that, though most will blank out plate out of courtesy.

If it was studio shots the that is very different.

Did you not think to ask for an explanation? If the photograph was mainly of your car in the photograph and not just in the background, then it was being used for their gain? As you were getting some work done, do a deal on your invoice or future work.

Are they nice pics of your car? Have they provided you with a high res set of copies?

If not ask for a set and then move on

Not too sure about all this who cares and move on...if it were me I would have liked to have been asked or at least told out of courtesy.
