Inane new bike questions part 2 - setup and prep?

When I get my new bike, I'd like to keep it in good nick. How should I prep it when it arrives - ie what assembly greases (if any) shoudl I use and where, where should I Helitape it, is it worth slapping some coats of car wax on the frame and forks, etc, etc?

What sort of bike are you getting? What material is the frame etc?

Copper grease/anti-seize for the seat tube/seat post area, assuming it's metal-on-metal. if the bike/bike shop are half-decent, things like this should be taken care of before you collect it.
Helitape: if you *really* insist, then cranks (heel rub), down-tube (stones), drive-side chain stay (chain slap). IMO helitape looks awful...moreso than any battle scars.
Don't bother with wax, etc.

It's a CTW, being delivered to home - means I think I have to do a bit of spannering, which is no bother. Ta mate!

I have used reflective tape to protect my frame this has a double functions it protects the frame and then in low light situations it helps to protect the rider see the photos the bike with the most on is the one I ride to work all weathers etc. nd the Tarmac SL3 has 40mm round bits just under the cable rub areas. The photos are in my garage with a normal compact camera and built in flash.
