Why is the video sped up? Still quite a hairy day at the office there but I'm sure it would look less busy at normal speed.

Been there, done that. I was on a flight that did three go-arounds ( I think - I was quietly crapping myself) trying to land at Bilbao, because the crosswind was over limits.

Eventually we diverted to Vitoria, which was a hoot, as they didn't have any mobile steps to hand that were big enough to get us off the aeroplane.

Small world. I almost bought a house in Khandallah ( no idea on the spelling) specifically as with binoculars you could see the planes landing, from the main bedroom!

Definitely sped up. The planes in the video seem to eat up a large chunk of the runway in very little time, and even the way the planes are tossed around just looks exaggerated.

Compare it to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMvLuUJFHYk

I like the way the engines change position for #2 and #3 between the overhead shot and the landing shot. Someone mucked up the edit methinks.

I remember as pax, being sat on an airbus at GVA waiting to depart on a windy day. As we waited for an arriving aircraft, we were holding in such a way that our window was lined up with the runway. It was plenty windy & the combination of perspective, chunky rudder input & deflected approach meant that the incoming 757 looked for all the world like it was flying right at us.

Even though I knew better, I remember that being slightly disconcerting, thinking great, I made it through that ski trip only to get a kicking off a Boeing! hehe

I live in Khandallah wink

Top of the hill, but facing the other way (view's not as good, but it gets more sun). There's a great park nearby where we take the kids that's right under the flightpath. My boy loves it smile
