Stamp duty question

Am I right in thinking that the only people that don't pay stamp duty are first time buyers, ( obviously it has to be over a certain limit in the first place ).
I am thinking of buying a property, but have in the past owned a couple of houses, but none for a few years now.

FTB's pay the same stamp duty as everyone else.

The only advantage that you may be able to get would be that some lenders would class you as a FTB rather than a NTB and allow you onto their FTB product range.

The FTB stamp duty amnesty expired on 24th March 2012.
