This is an off-piste trail in Leigh Woods, Bristol and consists of a winding steep descent following a heavily off foot-wide path worn into a solid clay hillside, under a canopy of trees that ensures it never dries out and thus always remains slippery and soft.
I would like to hear from anyone else who has ridden this, because myself and a biking pal have been wondering if it is possible to actually ride the whole thing without having to stop or put a foot out. Both times I have ridden it, I have come down with the back locked, the front having to be manually antilock-braked, and a foot out all the way. Both the guys I ride with use clipped pedals, and one of them unclipped to copy me whilst the other one persevered and stacked it into a tree (twice
).
So, does anyone else have experience of this trail and if so, is it possible to ride properly with the right setup and adequate-sized balls?
