Lets say you exclude 911s (any Porsche) and Ferraris and TVRs - all for different reasons. What would be a next car after a 3200? Convertible preferably, unique preferably but just as 'economical' and 'reliable' as a 3200. Oh and for sensible money - at the mo a conti GT is not an option.

Audi S4 Cabrio - jsut out - on TG last ngiht - looked pretty good fun to me!
Could pick up a Maserati spyder for around 42k easily enough now which has to be worth a look perhaps? (They ahve one in at Maranellos at the moment I believe).
Still as the man on saturday said - Maserati down as deposit, + 70% residual on the Conti GT leaves payments of around 650 a month for a brand new Bentley
Mondial T convertible woudl be a possiblity too perhaps?

But the maser is on finance !!! Otherwise I would, we did offer him 80K there and then for it but he didn't take it don't know why . Maser spyder is an option, but hypnotherapy would be required to deal with the lights. Aston would be lovely but very expensive unless quite old. Mercs, bimmers etc too common and dull for me. Also used to have an audi or two but need something more exotic. Think the noble is a bit too much as is the marcos.

You've ruled everything out then David I'm afraid. Off to the Skoda dealer for you...
What about a classic? AM V8's can be had for cheap money these days, and should be pretty robust (though I hear they can rust). Excitement by the bucket load, especially in Vantage form. And special as it gets?

Mr Tony - you have selective memory - he said your 3200, 70% residual equals £950 to £1000 per month!
David - you can't see the lights when your driving it. Having said that I tried a Spyder and drove it four hundred metres before turing around as it's handling and scuttle shake was so bad. Get a 'cheap' 360 Spider - 3 year old, LHD.

probably going to do the cobra replica kit car thing and keep the maser on
3200 and Cobra replica - a excellent combo! (I run an example of each). However, I am beginning to find myself wondering if both cars are in fact serving the same purpose for me i.e. fun car for nice days, eves & weekends (got something else as my everyday car). I increasingly find myself considering getting rid of both and getting a single, extra naughty motor!

I know you said no 911's, but....

I agree with Chris - a Maser and Cobra would overlap too much for me.
Ruby's on the nose. Get a Caterham plus ANOther grown up car. It could even be a "cruiser" as the 7 would provide enough adrenaline for any eventuality.
A 355GTB and a 7 has to be one of the best combos ever. Assuming you don't need 4 seats in the one car
