I emailed the original dealer who supplied my car, they were happy to send me copies of all the service work they had done. They asked me to fax a copy of the V5 to prove I owned the car but other than that it was no hassle.

The dealer was OPC Hatfield, I can't speak for others but I don't see why they wouldn't send you copies.

They can certainly tell. Sometimes they cite "data protection" as a reason not to provide duplicate invoices but that is ridiculous, all they need to do is block out the customer's name (assuming it isnt a one owner car).

Depends on the OPC, West London were very helpful and offered a copy of all the invoices (with blanked out original customer name and address.
Cambridge on the other hand refused point blank and said they could not even tell me what work had been done due to customer confidentiality!

I have the same issue with my local OPC's, Leeds and Sheffield (both part of the JCT600 Group).

Sheffield told me they would issue the invoices with names blanked out, but couldn't re-print them as they originally were issued by Leeds. I contacted Leeds who were very arrogant basically saying they wouldn't give me anything as that information belonged to the original owner. I informed them of the DP laws and that I was happy to take the invoice blanked out, but that I would also show them the file of paperwork I have on the car stating the owners address and phone number (who I have spoken to) if they wanted to contact him.

They still insist that I get a copy of a letter signed by the original owner authorising their release and then they will phone him up when they receive that to confirm it is him - what a jobsworth! mad

Should it really be this hard? I will do as they ask, but appreciate any views on what the OPC should do in this situation and if there is an official line from Porsche UK.
