Just a heads up if you aren't aware - there are cameras set up to detect people driving in bus lanes now and you could get a £60 fine from today.

They're up and running in Edinburgh now whistle

Glasgow too methinks.

Anybody get a warning letter?

At least one camera I know has been popped off its perch: the A71 just before Calder Roundabout heading towards Edinburgh!

Yep I had a letter on my desk this morning. I was at the top of Leith Street, where you need to get in the left lane to turn left at the top; not that I'm saying it's strategically positioned at all.

Some of the bus lane positions are just stupid.

The one you mention is an example.

Also on the A71 at Chesser Avenue, the traffic waiting to turn right causes a tailback, and those wanting to go straight on are prevented from doing so by a bus lane, therefore making the queue longer and blocking the buses too at a bottleneck.

Belters!

I'd fight that one tbh - always struck me as a bloody stupid layout.

Thankfully it was just a warning, so no charge, though when the road's busy just there you'll have to cross the bus lane to go left, which sounds a bit dangerous to me.
