Finally got to do my favourite ride on my ZZR1200 today. One of my favourite stretches is the road from the A303 through Crewkerne to Lyme Regis. Picked up a ZX6-R en route and had a fantastic joust. It only occurred to me afterwards that this is Dennis country. Wasn't you was it DTM?!!

(My route is essentially Bath, Shepton Mallet, Castle Cary, A303, Crewkerne, Lyme Regis, Seaton, Budleigh Salterton, Exeter, Barnstaple, Woolacombe, Exmoor, Porlock, Minehead, Bridgewater, Cheddar, Shepton Mallet, Bath - must be 200-250 miles total and takes in some amazing roads and brilliant scenery).

There was an airshow somewhere near Sidmouth, so I stopped by the side of the road and watched various warbirds for an hour. Unfortunately it seems there was also a serious accident on the A35 near Axminster that caused the road to be closed. Hope nobody was seriously injured...

Great day for a ride though - aside from the airshow I had ice cream on the beach at Lyme Regis, a cream tea and extended ogling session at Woolacombe and more ice cream and a cold beer at Porlock. Just got back to find my girlfriend stoking up the barbecue. There goes the diet...

Ought to meet up at one end or the other of that road one day - it really is a good ride, and apparently camera-free. If only there weren't quite so many caravans and people carriers...
