The pro advice I got was to forget "ride height" as it depends too much on wheels and tyres.
Correct geometry I was told was bottom wishbones parallel to ground and rear chassis rail 10 to 15 mm higher than front. Seems a lot more straight forward than the "magic" that one often reads.

If your ground clearance probs are exhaust system related,
then new engine mounting rubbers make a huge difference.
Got mine from Burton Power. 50 mm Ford Pinto FP292.
I think the 2.9 uses the same mounts.
The job is a real PITA, you need a 17mm flex-head ratchet
spanner, its the only tool that can get in, but it's well worth
all the struggling.
Since I replaced them on my S1, it hasn't grounded once.
Still have to take care with those #**%#!!* speed humps tho.
( They seem to be breeding ex

Exponentially ? pretty simple really...
Exponential growth (including exponential decay when the growth rate is negative) occurs when the growth rate of the value of a mathematical function is proportional to the function's current value. In the case of a discrete domain of definition with equal intervals it is also called geometric growth or geometric decay (the function values form a geometric progression).
The formula for exponential growth of a variable x at the (positive or negative) growth rate r, as time t goes on in discrete intervals (that is, at integer times 0, 1, 2, 3, ...), is

My exhaust downpipe clamps kept grounding over bumps in the road,
and changing the old sagging engine mounts for nice thick stiff ones has
raised the engine (and subsequently the exhaust) by about 20mm.
Check the clearance between your anti-roll bar and the engine sump.
It should be about 25mm. If it's a lot less, your engine mounts have
probably sagged, and could benefit from replacement.
Simples.
Not as simple as Kev's response though.
