Seeing 1.6 bar on a K16 based turbo is plain wrong!

Increased rev limit?

O/T - Car was great around Spa, the changes James made were noticeable. Haven't had a chance to find out what he actually did.

A turbo needs to run at the correct boost as per it's compressor map. Those turbos are designed to work at 1.55 bar which is what it was doing all day today. We increase the rpm to 7300 to allow higher top speed, and the boost does not drop off against a normally k16.

A normal k16 can only run at 1.1 bar before it chokes as per the compressor map.

Glad your car is good.

What was the actual top speed on the driftbox Ken? We all know the speedo isn't accurate in a 911. It's clearly well above 200, which is a great achievement! How did everything else perform, intercoolers etc? Would be cool to see the data

Hey Jon,

Still working through the data - got lots of it. I have one vbox at 201 which was 332kph dash so I suspect it will be around 204-205. I know on his way back last night (abroad) that he hit 335kph dash which was 203.2gps.

IATs is something we are working on, since these turbos are very VTG like in IATs, which is not surprising. We went larger coolers this time and they were better, but always looking for more with IATs.
