BiB and rat stickers
Discussion
I'm sure this has been covered many times before and I know there are lots of BiB here. I remember a while ago hearing about the black rat stickers in cars denotes its probably police or emergency services, is this true?
Only thought about it again as I saw a hot looking Yellow Cupra R last night with a sticker in the back window, it was making some pace down the slip road at Cobham but backed off from continuing too hard when we got onto the A3. I'm sure it would have wiped the floor with my Brera were it trying!...

But apparently not official and are 'devalued' by the fact that anyone can buy one from ebay.

There are loads of them about, and whilst the black rat symbol is that of a traffic officer, the stickers mean nothing as you can pick them up just about anywhere.
Official designation or just something traffic officers do to recognise each other? Like their own version of the PH sticker

Traffic Officers were nick named black rats due to the fact they would stick on another copper (actual Black Rats eat their own kind)
The stickers can be bought off the internet now and are even sold on ebay, as a get off speeding tickets solution!
I used to have one on my previous car, purely because I liked the way it looked and it was very subtle.
Since we now don't have a secure parking area, I have nothing on the car that would identify it as being owned by a copper (tyres are expensive on 18" rims and the paintwork would be a b
h to respray)I do have a Black Rat keyring, it detaches and can be used in shopping trolleys instead of digging around for a pound coin. The money for the sale of those goes to the Traffic Patrol officer orphans gift club, helping support the family of Traffic officers who have been killed on duty.
