Had narrowed down my choice of SLR to the 5100 and was just checking out the best prices, now I am unsure whether to go with this or look at the new 3200.
Beginner to SLR really not sure what choice to make, I know both will be very good cameras but would like to know what views any experienced photographers out there have on the choice between the 2.

There's always something newer and shinier around the corner. Just enjoy it, the D5100 is a great camera and will sit in slightly higher market sector than the D3200 if tradition is upheld.

Well, having just unpacked the 5100 and impatiently waiting for the battery to charge let me tell you the deal I got.

£572 paid to jessops with £50 to come back from Nikon but on top of that I get about £20 cash back from Quidco (already tracked) so that's around £500 for a brand new kit. I anticipate to get about £200 back for the D3000 kit so the cost to change is actually not too bad.

Ive been searching for weeks now and I believe that price will be pretty unbeatable right now.

Gad-westy. You're absolutely right. Technology moves on constantly so I will indeed just enjoy using the new camera for a good few years.
