Is there any shops in Scotland with a decent selection of helmets? I need to find a new race helmet and would rather try some on than order over the interweb.

There's Hein Gericke on Great Western Road in Glasgow. They're geared towards bikers, I don't know how that affects helmet choice. I'm quite happy with the one I bought to use for karting, they seemed like a decent bunch.

No, they must comply with MSA requirements as per my post above.

It's the one thing you can rely 100% on that scrutineers will check.

If the helmet doesn't comply, it'll be impounded until the end of the meeting or event.

Unless you can borrow one, you won't be competing that day.

Bike helmets generally don't comply with the MSA required standards.

IIRC, it's something to do with the design being different for one big impact as opposed to lots of smaller ones (like regularly rattling your bonce off a roll cage).

Cheers,
