Have LD lines cut down on the crossing Portsmouth - Le Harve
Discussion
Yes, something has happened as bookings I have for LM 24 and the Classic both had accommodation altered because of a change of boat. Maybe they've merged with another operator or something. Glad the cabin I had booked for the classic wasn't cancelled, as the Mrs and kids wouldn't have been too happy kipping on the floor..
This is the email I received in march -
LD Lines regrets to inform you that due to the replacement of the Norman Spirit on the Portsmouth-Le Havre route, the sleeper seat reserved for your journey on board the Norman Spirit is no longer available. A standard seat has been reserved for all the members of your party on board the Norman Voyager and the Reservations Service will arrange a refund for the accommodation reserved on your original ticket.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

A quick look on LD lines website states that they now have a joint initiative with DFDS http://www.ldlines.co.uk/

Good Afternoon!http://www.ldlines.co.uk/
The joint initiative is only for the route Dover-Calais, LD Lines still runs on normal routes. For Portsmouth- Le Havre currently there is only 1 sailing a day at 23:00 and Le Havre to Portsmouth is 17:00-17:30 (depending on the tides it does slightly vary!).
The reason the accomodation has changed is as you mentioned because of the change of vessel, currently the Norman Voyager only has 4 berth Cabins (inside and outside) and standard seating (so that vessel does not have sleeper-seats/club class seating as the Norman Spirit/Arrow etc.
Over the summer season there is usually the fast-craft also that comes into operation, which makes the sailings twice a day (for example, last summer the sailing was 14:10 + 23:00 ). As this is only seasonal the service ended in September.
There is currently no indication by the operator that the Fast Craft for Portsmouth Le Havre will be in service this year but we will keep our fingers crossed!
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to visit or contact www.aferry.co.uk, we are always happy to help and answer any questions. We also have special offers and great prices! You can even compare by route/day to find the cheapest fare.
I hope this has helped.
My best regards,
Gina
