Awesome. A lot of car for the money.

Sunroof just looks wrong though...why would you spend so much on an RS recreation and leave it in.

Maybe that's what was available at the time. The ventilation on these cars is crap and so on a hot day, having the sunroof open is a life saver.

Because most of them came with one. Non sun roof C2/C4 are difficult to find. However, there's a LHD non-sun roof C2 at SCOM if anyone's interested (will need work though).

A lot of car for the money and its stunningly executed, but I don't like the Carrera RS badge on a replica.

I'll tell my bro-in-law that his keyrings get around (pic 9) hehe

I don't like it that much

don't like the wheels or the seats.

If your making a rep get some real seats and wheels

if you making a track fun car don't fit RS shocks etc.

imo it's a bit meh.

Neither a rep or a great track car.

I massively love it. In fact, I tried to buy it the last time it was up for sale, got the money out of the bank and everything.

Anyone that doesn't think that is perfect has eyes that are wrong.

Totally agree - I've got one on mine and wouldn't be without it. Ventilation AND all the better for hearing it properly.

However - if I was doing a full on RS recreation I wouldn't have it. Especially on this car as it was stripped back to the shell. Replacing the roof panel and removing all the heavy sunroof paraphernalia would have been easy enough and a useful weight saving.

Good point, however if that's the case then why not buy a caterham? Ok I'm being pedantic but this whole weight loss crap winds me up, like any of the track day hero's could really tell the difference between a car with a sunroof & one without.

Fair play if you're stripping one back to make a cup replica that you trailer to each event, but on a car I'd like to drive to the ferry, over to the ring for two dozen good laps, a trackday at spa followed by the long schlep back up north? I'll take a sunroof & stereo system thanks very much smile

I own the mint green RS rep made by Jasmine, the sister car. It's fantastic, I'm totally happy with the sunroof, seats, wheels and (sacrilege I know) , aircon and RS badge. The suspension and brakes setup is just amazing. The engine revs really freely and sounds lovely with the roof open. These are great cars

Weight saved by removing the sunroof is what..30kg? Take that and no AC and you are talking 60+kg. That makes a huge difference to the way these cars move down the road, it is far more noticeable than a few more bhp! To say the issue is crap is, well.. crap!
Nice car by the looks of things, and imho the price is about correct considering its had a few years wear and tear. Not sure on the dampers and no mention of a LSD but it should sell easily.

very VERY nice car. Shame its black though, which is my least fave colour on a 964.

Mind you, I could learn to live with it!

A little harsh IMO, if you don't mind me saying. The Recaro PPs are the closest thing you're going to get to original RS seats. They could easily be retrimmed in leather to look closer to the originals. I doubt if you could buy new originals and second hand are like hen's teeth and would be something like £4K for a pair. Similarly, the wheels could easily be changed to Cup 1s. No point in trying to get RS mags because again they would be hugely expensive and the majority of real RS owners keep them stowed away for posterity to avoid corrosion.

I had a look at it in the days that Jay owned it and it looked great fun on track (albeit on a small sprint circuit at the time). All in all it appeared to be a cracking car and at less than half the price of a pukka 964RS, it now seems to be a bit of bargain. smile
