Munich Legends Coupe Meeting This Sunday
Discussion
Hi All,
I know this is short notice, but i am organising a BMW Car Club Coupe meet there. Should have a wide selection of cars comming down. Last meeting had 17 cars including CSl's E3's, E9's, E24's, E31's, E30's, E36's and E46's. If anyone is in the area and fancies joining us you are more than welcome. Kick off is 12:00 Midday so to speak.

Southern Coupe Meet
Munich Legends, Sunday July 25th, East Sussex.
With two successful meets under the belt the third meet was again a slightly different format being a meet at a Recognised BMW specialists Munich Legends. Barney made us very welcome and opened up his shop and yard for us to see the cars he had. I had also organised a lunch for us all in the next door pub called the Red Lion. Here we ate some very nice traditional English food in the pubs gardens.
Once again we were blessed good weather which pleased me as the weather has been so bad recently. So I got up early and gave the car a quick clean before leaving to drive the 35 miles to Munich Legends. Once again I arrived early to get the Car Club coupe board on display at the side of the road. Within minutes the first car arrived. A nice M635 Highline with some gleaming Breyton Style wheels. Over the next 30 minutes we had covered the forecourt outside Munich legends with eight E24’s. There were three highline models including the above mentioned M6, with the rest being chrome bumper models including two very rare manual versions and one manual 628csi. We had one heavily modified ZM Coupe more commonly know as the Bread van gleaming away with it’s AP racing brakes and 18” BBS wheels. Later on in the day we were joined with one very clean and original Blue 3.0 CSL and Ivan’s 635csia.
On the forecourt we were joined by one non BMW car which was an interesting Vauxhall VX220 turbo owned by a journalist from Used car buyer who was borrowing an E39 M5 from ML’s for a second hand M5 feature. He seemed very interested in our meet and when he heard about the Big Coupe day I have got planned in September he took my details with a view to having a stand at the show which is good news.
The meet was a much lower key event by comparison to the other meetings probable due to the start of the summer holiday season. Saying that the meet was a great success especially for the six series owners, and one owner even bought some genuine 17” Alpina’s from a car ML’s was breaking. Another member who came with a mint Royal Blue highline 635 was becoming increasingly tempted with a late low mileage 840cs and had to go away to think about it. We will have to watch the space on this one.
So again the meet was a great success. I have not planned a Southern coupe meeting for the month of August largely as a results of the Holiday season making a meeting impractical. That leaves the Big Coupe day organised on the 5th September @ 10am – 5pm for all owners of BMW’s. I have the banking reserved for the E9, E24 and E31, but the more cars that come down the merrier. I have yet to find a good location for a late September and late October meeting, but will be planning two different locations on the 3rd Sundays of each Month. If any one requires more information or would like to be included in my Coupe mailing list please feel free to contact me on james@sohl.fsnet.co.uk and for further details of upcoming events
