Thinking of taking my car into CG soon...as heard so much about them on here. Reason is the car feels quite jittery and always had a doubt that something isn't right so peace of mind more than anything.

Just wondering, is it best to get some sort of wheel alignment done before I go?
Also, what exactly does he do to make the car feel good? Is it just adjusting the camber, etc. similar to wheel alignment or something different. I have no clue...have tried to work this out before, feel that I should just pay Chris and let him do what he does! Agreed?

TIA

No don't get anything done now, and let him assess the current condition of your cars suspension/tyres. He will discuss with you how you want the car to feel/drive, advise you of what you may need replacing, and what affect the changes he makes will have on the car.
If you have any known problems now, let him know, but his initial test drive will likely pick up things you haven't noticed.
He also lets you get under the car with him, and even assist at times.

Sounds great...can't wait!!

I am just hoping he doesn't highlight 100s of pounds worth of parts need changing before he works his magic...
I have read on here he charges a lot, but having received a quote last week I thought it was quite reasonable.

In my opinion I would take it to Dom at svp droitwich. Not a laser alignment machine in site. Just a piece of string and a weight, amongst other things.

I've recently posted about CoG and others, some useful reading on here:

Btw, seems like the going rate at CoG is £300 (inc) and you're in for half a day. Currently booking for mid May slots.

+1 vote for Chris at CG. He has set-up a few of our cars. Always been a pleasure and an education. Its great to meet people who are passionate about what it is they do.

+ 1 more for CG. Just had new suspension and ligament done there and Chris is exceptionally thorough about what he does. The test drive gives a good opportunity to discuss the issues. Amazing how someone can drive your car for ten minutes and perfectly describe the issues and then describe the remedy. Because I had the suspension changed the before and after we're a week apart so it took me a while to appreciate just how much the car had been changed. Bilstein pss10 also gets the Thumbs up from me.
