If you have a concentric BB for the love of God make sure it is VERY VERY VERY VERY well greased.

Since having a Son our MTB tandem has not moved a wheel for about 3 years. I decided to recommission it this week and noticed that the timing chain was a little too tight from a frame swap just before it stopped getting used. It took me half a day to get the bloody concentric BB out; it wasn't like it was dry either.

Never have I sworn so much at a bike, or tried so many ways to accomplish my goal.

CBBs are utterly utterly hateful things. If you have one makes sure it is blathered in anti-seize.

I meant plea obviously and, shamefully, I'm an engineer (of sorts) and I do (honestly) know the difference between eccentric and concentric. I have no excuse other than it was written when I was ready to beat my own brains out with an eccentric wedge in frustration.

Anyway, lube up chaps, it could just save you a lot of pain

And Steve, it was a 3.5 rate uni after you left
