I was amazed to find that the battery on my 3-year-old 997 is/was covered under the Porsche Approved used car warranty, or whatever they call it, I have had the car just a year. Took it into Leeds main dealer yesterday with a dead battery and was told they didn’t think it was covered but would check for me, when I went to collect it fully expecting a bill for £300, I was informed it is covered and nothing to pay.
Worth knowing.

iirc, it relates to when the battery was fitted, (2 year parts warranty) and the car having covered more than 1.5k miles a year.

if so, covered.

Hi John, who was it you dealt with at Leeds? A point of contact could be useful in the future....

I was equally pleasantly surprised when my 4.75 year old 987 S Boxster had to have the battery replaced and was told it was covered by the extended warranty. I had the car (and battery) from new and had only done around 9,500 miles so around 2,000 per year.

The service manager said they covered batteries up to about 5 years, so I guess it was a good time to get it replaced, but I traded it in for a 981 S a few minutes later! smile

Cheers,

Geoff

I dealt with Wesley, realy helpful, I asked him about prices on tyres, need two rears shortly, he gave me a price said there was a bit of discount to be had, but would price match if I went back with a price, no hard sell. Good service all round, dropped me off and picked me up from office in Leeds, cleaned the car even took the time to investigate a smell coming throught he vent system since Sheffield had it for Hood reproof back end of last year.
