Finally Got One ... My New Toy ...
Discussion
Thanks all. Still getting my head round the fact that any dab of throttle makes it move. A stark contrast to my previous turbonutter ride...
Defiantly get a whole new level of feedback from the car compared to the Impreza, and am also much more cautious. You could get away with murder in the Scooby with all sorts of hamfisted driving techniques...

That's why my Porsche doesn't come out so often!

What do we think about warranties? I am thinking about getting a years cover from porsche!? I have 3 months from the dealer, but am quite keen to protect againt big bills whilst I own it...
Make sure the car has no non-Porsche approved equipment fitted - such as stereo, battery, cling film, etc. otherwise any claim made under the extended warranty is likely to be void. Even if they sold you the warranty when that equipment was present. paulmoonraker said:
Hi Everyone,
2007 Cayman S, 18K on the clock and loads of goodies... Loving it so far... Very different from my previous brute of an Impreza...

Glad you got the car you wanted.
You probably don't recall but a year or so ago you gave me excellent in-depth advice re Scoobys which I really appreciated...perhaps over time I can now return the favour re Porsche advice!
Enjoy.

I find loss of traction more progressive on a Boxster/Cayman compared to a 4wd where it's either on or totally off.Levels of lateral grip are also very high so that helps too, particularly in the wet.
Providing steering and throttle inputs are smooth, the chassis will also accept a loy of "liberties", it's that good !
Enjoy either way, it's a lovely car in a superb colour.
