Anyone got any recommendations for getting an old Porsche serviced. Used to go to house of cars but Dave the manager has left and, bizarrely, is not being replaced, so don't fancy leaving it there.

ARM came up with a ridiculous quote, presumably because they're not interested.

Are there are any other options out there?

Thanks,

Martin

My mechanic might be able to help, the only person I trust with my car after seeing and experiencing the shocking state of work by so called porsche specialists. If you pm your details I'll pass them on and I am sure he will give you a call to discuss matter further.

Hi,

My 1972 911 is looked after by Saluki Motorsport, and I am very happy with their work

About the only only place I have come across who even know what a carb is let alone how to set them up...

Another vote for Saluki - they keep my galactic mileage Boxster on the road.

Aye, I have heard Saluki are decent. I have a 73RS Replica and I plan on taking mine there...eventually. Hasnt missed a beat in a year thanks to the rebuild done in Canada before it came over.

Aye, thats the one. I think its the only one here. Took a while to get up to par and spend a load on it before it came over but its seen me good I have to say. Got some of the paintwork done recently and some very nice chap gave me his 91174 numberplate so well pleased with that.

Will be at the Motoring Middle East meet this Friday if you are going. 4pm onwards. Its on facebook and all that, its a good meet. However taking the Vanqish this weekend, picked up a bargain as luck may have it. However one of my mates usually drivers the porker down so if you are taking yours down then would like to see it.

Cheers.

An interesting pairing of cars, and one which i am openly jealous of.

We will no dount meet in due course at the next PH beery evening, and would love a spin in, erm, either to be honest!!

Phil (shirt) will no doubt chip in soon with classic Porsche tales- he appears as obssessed as i am

Where do I find out about the PH meets? Beers etc. Have only just got on this forum although have been looking at the cars for sale on here for years. Love the old R5 GT Turbos....ahh what I wouldnt give to have one of them again....even if it only lasted 10 mins and then overheated. Or a P 205Gti 1.9. Great stuff.

Always up for a chat about cars....I tend to bore my mates and people in the office with car chat.
