Does anyone know of a REALLY good valeting company that will make a car (3 years old) virtually showroom condition ? Must be within a 50 mile radius of London.

The depth and quality of their paint restoring, polishing and waxing is the most important issue for me - not that bothered about interior cleaning.

...and I don't mean a couple of scrotes in a van, doing the whole job in an hour with the same bucket of water!

Do it yourself - its a lot more satisfying. I can do a better job that the pros as well, as I'm not doing it to cost.

If you want the best, invest in some Zymol (www.zymol.co.uk) - your car will look amazing if you do it right.

I use Mayfair car valet for my interior only. They clean all the Porsches/jags corvettes etc that park in the hotel. They're not cheap, but hey what is these days? Takes them at least 4-5hours.
Look them up in Yell.com. Mind you I've never let them touch my paintwork, like the man says, order a proper zymol pack, do the work yourself, and you'll be amazed.

cant believe the rip off price of zymol, do not believe it is much if any better than if you use autoglym super resin polish and then use their extra gloss protection. After polishing it earlier this week, the ferrari was so shiny that i gave up fitting the dustcover after about 10 minutes of it sliding on to the floor at every attempt.

I used to swear by Autoglym, then I bought some Zymol last year. There is a big difference between Zymol that is a proper wax, and Autoglym etc that is a polish and actually scratches the paintwork.
Zymol literally turns the paintwork into a mirror, i was completely amazed!!

I use Zymol Titanium on my Tuscan and recommend it. It may cost more than a polish - remember, Zymol waxes are just that - Titanium has a higher percentage of Carnuba wax and smell wonderful

yeah Super Resin is a polish, but Autoglym Extra gloss protection is a pure wax with no polish. You use it when the paintwork is absolutely spotless, put it on, leave it for an hour and then rub off. Comes up very shiny indeed.

If only Zymol was not such a rip off I could try some and see.

If you like Mer then I have a litre of the stuff which i dont use. If you are ever anywhere near Reading...

A Zymol starter kit is £90 - a lot, but no more than 3 tankfulls of fuel. Try it - you will not go back to Autoglym.

Mer is just much harder work...in my experience tends to leave quite a lot of white dust residue...

I can't be bothered to retype my knowledge re: autoglym...suffice to say it really IS what they say it is. I have my doubts about wax protectants....

I have some zymol myself (carbon rather than titanium). It does smell GORGEOUS, and does make the car look lovely...but I personally doubt it actually protects the car in the same way the Autoglym does....which makes it look similarly nice with effort. Couple of things in Zymol favour...1) good to do in direct sunlight (as opposed to AG or Mer) 2) doesnt leave any residue so you dont end up with irritating bits of white polish in places it takes a while to get them out of!

just depends on whether you really want to spend that much money on car polish!

I use Zymol too, and it really is good. I don't buy a kit, rather I buy the Ital Wax, Cleane (wash) and HD Cleanse. They make the garage smell lovely and my daughter (6) is always knicking my working pot of polish (remainder is in the fridge) because she likes the smell.

However, and it's a big however, you put the wax on with your hands. Yes indeedy, you melt a little pea-sized lump on the palm of your hand then smear a thin coating on the car. It's quite hard work. It was also damned embarrassing explaining what I was doing when my wife came into the garage while I was on my knees, sweating, and rubbing my hands down the flanks of my car. In had to show her the brochure and everything before she believed I hadn't 'turned'.

One chap I know uses it says it's a good way to find things out about your car. I'm more worried about whether you find things out about yourself.....

I know people who own cars cheaper than that stuff!
I haven't tried Autoglym or Zymol (i've never heard of zymol before), I tend to use Turtle Wax Coulor Magic, or whatever carplan product is on special offer at Tesco's.

How long does a tub of zymol last for? (I'd hope £200 worth is not only good for just one clean)!
