Red kebab meat in Bury?

Having had a couple of kebabs since moving to Bury I've noticed that the donner meat in some establishments appears to be red. It's not a tandoori meat so does anybody know the reasoning for this?

I'm pretty sure it's just colouring added by the wholesaler.

That'll be the dye they use to stop people eating contaminated meat.
