Cheap French internet dongle for radio LM when off-circuit.
Discussion
This year we are staying out of range of Radio LM at Flee, we need a cheap and cheerful way to connect to the internet so we can listen on line while away from the circuit, I think I read a post last year where you could get a cheap pay-as-you-go mobile dongle connection.
hopefully Tom,
hopefully Tom,
There is a SFR shop near the Carrefour. Conditions change all the time, but you could get a dongle for 30 euros with 3 days unlimited internet access. Will be excellent for a Le Mans weekend.
But as stated, the telecom guys keep changing their conditions, so best is to check again nearer race weekend!
Edit: Seems that prices have dropped to 9.90 euros for a sim and 1 euro for the actual dongle. If that stays till june, I'd might be tempted to bring my laptop!

Whilst the dongle will be cheap bandwidth anywhere near the circuit will be at a premium as there are so many 3G users. I'd be surprised if you would be able to stream radio over wireless with any reliability.
At most big events in the UK your'e lucky to make a reliable call let alone get a solid 3G connection these days.

A few months ago I tried to buy a PAYG SIM in France and was told (in all the phone shops I went to) that you need to provide a RIB. This, from memory of when I used to have a French bank account, is a piece of paper from the bank that has your name, address, French bank account details etc. It's for security reasons and they would not sell me a SIM without this. Les batards.
If this has changed, please tell me as I still need one
