I'm planning a tour of Europe in the summer and wondered if anyone knows of a bank account that has minimal charges for withdrawals and payments?

Thanks

Prepaid currency card is probably the best option.

FairFX prepaid currency card - I used one in the US and was great. Check out options on the money saving expert website.

Have a read through this. It's updated regulary so will be the most up to date info. Used to be an easy answer-Open a Nation Wide Current account, no charges for purchases or cash withdrawals worldwide then it changed to just Europe and now I don't think it even cover Europe.

The way I go now is put as much as I can on my no fee credit card (Santander Zero) then withdraw cash in big lumps if I need it-you get charged roughly £2 for every £100 in cash you withdraw. You really do get a crack rate-on a recent trip the Post Office were offering 1.11 Euro to the £ and I was getting slighly over 1.2 for purchases and withdrawals. Plus you have the added peice of mind with it being a credit card.
