If i was at home or if you can wait till after Chatsworth i could pop down and take a look. There is only a hand full of things it can be on a Chim.

Is it doing it from cold or hot or all the time? Does it feel like it is missing at all? when was the last time the plugs leads and Coil were changed?

I gave all my bits away so i could have done a bit of Fault finding with those i had a full Engines worth of the electrical side for a RV8 . Never mind a copy of the Bible and a multi meter should do the trick.

Worth checking the plug extenders are still OK and you could also try looking at leads in the dark to see if there is any breaking down, they will glow if they are past best. They do eat leads with the heat!

Hi,
If your up in Aberdeen at all I can put my ECUMate on her for you. A very good diagnostic aid for sure.

Ian.

Hi,

Yes I would, it's more than just a fault code reader.

This is taken from a post by Steve Heath on the General forum.

It reports and clears all 40+ fault codes not just the 14 or so basic ones.
It displays information on the lambda sensors so you can see how they are responding.
It displays the actual voltages so you can set up the throttle pot and see how this affects idle mode.
It does a ECU power up check to check that the fuel pump is priming and for stepper motor reset.
It allows you to turn the fuel pump on and off.
It allows you to move the stepper motor at will.
It displays when the ECU goes into idle mode and the conditions that cause it to do so.
It can detect noisy throttle pot movement.
It also describes the map type: region, cats or no cats

Take a look a SH web-site for a much more detailed description of it's functions etc.

Cheers,
Ian.
