I want to change to a straight throttle plate from the original J plate. However, I am worried about messing up mine and ending up with an immobile car so I am looking to see if anyone has a spare that I can attack, or even the later straight version. Cheers Tony.

Hi Tony, think there's one on my "spare" engine but it's at work so can't be sure till tomorrow. You'd be welcome to have it to modify then let me have your one back when sorted.

Thanks for the offer Mike, but I was looking for one which would not matter so much if I b****red it up. This reflects the confidence that I have in my welding abilities!

Cheers Tony.

Looking for something else and found a spare spare one !

want it ?

It pivots on a plastic/nylon bush so the trick is to wrap with wet rag and weld quickly (arc, mig?) or cut it out (its kinda moulded into the metal) and glue it back in afterwards.
