G3 and legacy lenses

While clearing boxes in the loft, we found an old camera, a praktica bms. It belonged to my wifes granda apparently. It also has 3 lenses in the bag, a sigma 28-70, a makinon 135mm and a prakticar 50mm. Not lenses I know much about, but the latter seems to have a reasonable reputation from my quick googling.

Can I use these on a lumix g3? I quite fancy playibg with them to work out what would work for me going foreward. I know I'll need an adaptor, anyone got any ideas if it's worth it, or where to get one from? eBay?

Well according to www.praktica-collector.de/232_Praktica_BMS.htm it's a 'Praktica B Mount' so I should think the chances of finding anything that will connect it to a Panasonic/Olympus Micro 4/3 system is zip. It may be possible to find an engineering outfit that will machine something but it will be expensive and manual-only which is essentially god's way of saying 'Chuck it all on eBay' - and put the £20 you get towards a 4/3 lens

Bear in mind that the 'effective' length of the lens will be doubled.

Good to see that SRB are still going - and £30 doesn't seem too expensive.

But the functionality of the camera will be crippled so I still wouldn't bother.

This sort of old lens use, especially for video, seems to be rather popular in the m4/3 world - whch is why so many adapters seem to have appeared in the market in the past year or two. One or two old lenses out there seem to be acquiring cult status.

I found another one from the USA that was £50 so SRB seem to be more competitive on that.
