A friend is thinking about this car currently on eBay but I thought the number plate looked familiar from a thread on here a few years ago. Does anyone know the car or any of it's history or has anyone seen it?

He's been told that the wheels on one side have been replaced in a claim against a council and that the car has had paint (i'm not sure how much) done by Porsche.

Based on the helicopter and Bently in the background, one would hope the owner has spent lots of money on it keeping it in perfect condition. However it could have easily sat in a collection and not had much use at all.

When buying a rare car like you need to make sure the car is original, eg genuine Speedline for Porsche wheels, no accident damage, if the respray was done by Porsche then does it come with the 10 yr warranty?

Check for annual invoices to support services, MOTs, Should`nt be any rust but make sure there isn`t.

If you mate is keen then he needs to find out a lot more information about the car then the basic ebay add lets on.

eBay listing said:
The car has a full Porsche history and 18 months ago was given a full body restoration by Porsche UK it has the balance of the 10 year warranty remaining.

Or this sort of car doesn't change hands on Ebay? I would have though someone from here would have gone and looked at it?

Only joking with my comment as I am out of the 964t market now.
As you say such a rare car it is surprising they did not advertise it on PH etc or in a Porsche mag.

I'm sure when the car was advertised a few years back that someone had viewed it as I saved the pictures at the time. Something sticks in my mind but I'm not sure what the problem was. It might be the wheels and the paint or more than that.

I'm seeing my mate on Sunday so I'll see how serious he is about the car.

it says in the advert that it had a claim against a council for wheels and some paint,is this a round about way of saying its a catd or something as what would be the point, its not unusual to have replaced alloys and paintwork on a car this old,the alloys tend to fall to bits on there own.
the reg number i recognise from a few years back as i was trying to keep track of these cars when i was in the market, and i looked at 3 that turned out to be cat d and c vehicles that were that colour combo,1 was in an unrepaired state after a bump that had been used as a builders van with cement all over the interior.
p.s not saying that this is any of those cars.
